Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sevendesk IT Services Inc., operating as Sevenflow ("Sevenflow," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the website sevenflow.ca (the "Site"), our restaurant technology advisory and implementation services, and our sales and marketing activities (collectively, the "Services").
We are based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and this Policy is written to comply with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
By using the Site or Services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This Policy covers personal information we collect from three main groups:
- Clients — restaurant owners and operators who engage Sevenflow for online ordering, POS, or marketing services
- Prospects and leads — individuals and businesses we identify or contact through business development activities, including our lead-generation research
- Site visitors — anyone who browses sevenflow.ca or submits our contact form
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Contact details (name, business name, email, phone number, mailing address) submitted via our contact form, email, or phone
- Business information needed to deliver Services (menu data, licensing details, POS account information, banking or payment setup details required by our platform partners)
- Billing information for invoicing and payment processing
- Communications you send us, including support requests and feedback
Information collected automatically:
- Standard website usage data (pages visited, browser type, device type, approximate location, referring site) via analytics and hosting tools
- Cookies and similar technologies used to operate the Site and understand how it is used (see Section 6)
Information collected from public and business sources:
As part of our business development activities, we research and compile information about restaurant businesses that may benefit from our Services. This may include business name, address, licensing status, and publicly listed or business-purpose contact information sourced from public municipal records (such as the City of Edmonton Open Data Portal), business directories, and publicly available mapping or places data. We use this information solely for legitimate business-to-business outreach and do not use it to build profiles of individuals in their personal capacity.
Information from third-party platforms:
Where you use Services that connect to third-party platforms we implement or resell (such as Zuppler, Clover, or Square), those platforms may separately collect information governed by their own privacy policies. Sevenflow may receive limited account or configuration information from these platforms as needed to provide support.
3. How We Use Personal Information
- To provide, configure, and support the Services you have engaged us for
- To communicate about your account, projects, invoices, and support requests
- To send marketing communications, where you have consented or where permitted under CASL's business-to-business exemptions, and always with an easy way to opt out
- To identify and reach out to prospective restaurant clients as part of our business development activities
- To improve the Site, our Services, and our content
- To meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations
4. How We Share Personal Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share personal information with:
- Third-party platform providers (e.g., Zuppler, Clover, Square) as necessary to set up and support the Services you've requested
- Service providers who help us operate our business, such as hosting providers, email delivery services (e.g., Resend), database providers (e.g., Supabase), and payment processors, under contractual confidentiality obligations
- Professional advisors (accountants, lawyers) where necessary
- Authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sevenflow or others
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets
5. Marketing Communications and CASL
Where we send commercial electronic messages (such as email outreach to prospective restaurant clients or marketing updates to existing Clients), we do so in compliance with CASL. Messages include our business contact information and a functional unsubscribe mechanism. You may withdraw consent or opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us using the details in Section 11 — this will not affect service-related communications necessary to deliver Services you've engaged us for.
6. Cookies and Tracking
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, enable core functionality, and understand aggregate usage patterns through analytics tools. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some Site functionality. The Site does not use cookies to serve third-party advertising.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Client account and billing information is generally retained for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by Canadian tax and corporate record-keeping law. Prospect and lead information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for business development purposes, and will be deleted or anonymized upon request or after a reasonable period of inactivity.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration, including access controls and secure hosting infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
- Request deletion of personal information we no longer have a legitimate need to retain
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable Alberta and federal privacy law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be posted on the Site with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
